More post-conference coverage on Open Web Asia

Web 2.0 | 2008/10/20 11:01 | Web 2.0 Asia

Open Web Asia was all about the web in "China, Japan, Korea, and the rest of the Asia", not focusing on a single particular country. Accordingly, we get post-conference coverages in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, as well as in English.

Gang Lu sent us a message that Open Web Asia was picked up by the top newspaper in Shanghai. There's a link to the PDF file here

Again, as I said in my previous post, Rain, the reporter from 163.com, did a phenomenal job covering the whole event and their dedicated website is here

In Japan, a widely-read English blog Asiajin has in-depth coverage of the event, featuring full-length videos. Their coverage is here. Also, MarkeZine picked up the story in Japanese:

In Korea, where the conference was held, Maeil Biz News did extensive coverage of the event on several occasions. Also, Meena Lee (a member of Korean organizing team) contributed a piece about Open Web Asia on Electronic Times, the leading IT newspaper in the nation. (Meena happens to be one of the most influential PR figures in the Korean web industry, so her story tends to travel a long way):

Also, Loic put up his thoughts on the conference on his blog (you can see his slides too). He was particularly happy to see that we are trying to become "the Le Web of Asia". Jason Calacanis took out extra time to get together with Korean bloggers the day after the conference and provided valuable insights on founding startups and creating a successful conference. (Pic below). It would have been nice if Jason hadn't retired from his blogging and mentioned OWA on his blog, but I still hope he got a lot out of his trip to Korea this time and will help our fledgling Asian conference get introduced to the English speaking world in the future.
